Committee Announces Plans for 28th Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

2012 advance Press information:

The 28th Ocean County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at noon on Saturday March 10, 2012 (Rain Date is Sat March 17th) in beautiful Seaside Heights, New Jersey. With a reputation as “The Greenest Parade in All of New Jersey” the parade set record numbers last year exceeding 75,000 spectators of all ages along the Boulevard just one block from the Atlantic Ocean. An annual fun family event the Parade marks the unofficial start of the Tourist season in Ocean County. Restaurants and Pubs are open early for breakfast and lunch, and weather permitting many of the Boardwalk attractions are open as well.  People are encouraged to arrive early this year as construction on the inbound lanes on the Route 37 bridge will close one lane in that direction. For more information, directions, and group registration forms for marchers go to www.OceanCountySaintPatricksDayParade.com

Hold on to your Shillelaghlies!
It’s time to.....Grieve as only the Irish can”, at the
Ocean County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee’s
“Traditional Irish Wake”!

Only at an Irish Wake

Come on buy a ticket...
we need the money!

You know the parade is getting close when the Parade Committee holds their now nearly locally world famous “Traditional Irish Wake”!

Based on the infamously true legend of Tim Finnegan’s wake, the ballad inspired James Joyce’s last novel. The legend lives forever in song. So as a toast to Irish folk lore, and the literary genius of one of the world’s finest authors (not to mention we need the money) buy a ticket and help support the “Greenest Parade in all of New Jersey”.

Full press release here.     See an example of the ballad here.
