Toms River Volunteer Fire Company No. 1
with over 100 years of dedicated service was organized in January of 1896. Fire Company No. 1 is one of six (6) volunteer fire companies serving Dover Township.Toms River Volunteer
Fire Company No. 1 and Toms River Volunteer Fire Company No. 2. responds together as the Toms River Fire Department to all emergencies in their service area and to mutual aid
responses. Toms River Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 has two firehouses one at 26 Robbins Street, Toms River, NJ between Washington Street and Water Street just north and diagonally
across from Wilsey Way, Our second firehouse is on Cardinal Drive at the intersection of Winding River Drive in the western section of town. The Robbins Street firehouse is our main station known as Station 25,
AKA, The Henry Runco Firehouse named in honor of Henry Runco who died in the line of duty in 1981. The Cardinal Drive firehouse also known as our sub-station, AKA station 25-1. This
firehouse was named after Charles Weingroff who died in the line of duty in July of 1973. |
