    PLEASE READ ALL RULES AND REGS CAREFULLY Any willful infraction(s) will result in the immediate disqualification of your entry and/or removal from the Parade. The Halloween Parade Committee's decision in all cases will be final.

    The 73rd HALLOWEEN PARADE sponsored by TOMS RIVER FIRE COMPANY #1 will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 7:00 pm. If the parade is postponed, it will be on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 7:00 pm.

    The participants are to be at the Toms River Shopping Center no later than 6:00 pm.

    PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER DURING THE DAY OF THE PARADE AND RECEIVE A REGISTRATION NUMBER BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00 A.M. AND 5:30 P.M. AT THE FIREHOUSE LOCATED AT 26 ROBBINS STREET, NEAR TOWN HALL, IN TOMS RIVER.

    Group Leaders, please inform all your participants if your group is in a walking or float division. If you can , let them know the letter and number of the group.

    We strongly suggest that parents and guardians make arrangements to meet their children at the front of the Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Ave and the corner of Washington Street.

    Please make arrangements to pick up float participants off Hooper Ave. (County parking area, school parking lot).

    All prizes will be awarded as each division reaches Ocean County Administration Building.

    Rules & Regulations

1. A registration number must be obtained the day of the parade at the firehouse between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm.

2. No motorized vehicles will be allowed in a walking division.

3. No undecorated vehicles will be allowed in the parade.

4. No more than one entry per organization, and no more than two units to an entry. (This includes more than one business at the same address).  except for divisions N, V, and Z.

5. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or displayed prior to, or during the parade.

6. There will be no walkers of any kind allowed in or with a motorized float, or in a motorized float division.

7. Promoting political candidates, parties, or platforms will not be allowed in the parade.

8. Animals may only be on a float and they must be restrained (leash, etc.)

9. There will be no dispersing or handing out of any articles, candies, pamphlets, or any other items to the public from any motorized float.

10. There will be no throwing of any items to the public from any participants in the parade.

11. All vehicles shall be propelled at a safe speed and in a straight line.

12. No stopping along the parade route for performing, including in front of the judges' stand. All performing must be done while marching.

13. Any undue noises that shall become offensive to the other participants such as air horns, sirens, etc., will not be allowed.

14. During set up in the float division, please keep all noise down.

  • Divisions are in alphabetical order.
  • Walkers start at Strauss Auto.
  • Floats start at the rear of Kohls/Foodtown.
  • Each division is in a first come, non-numerical order.
  • If an organization is in a walking division and the same organization or an affiliate is in a motorized division, the last spot in the walking division and the first spot in the motorized division cannot be saved or vice versa.

16. Floats must not be more than 14 feet high.

17. All entries shall be respectful and appropriate for a family environment.

18. There will be NO Late Registrations!

19. If a float is promoting a business, it MUST be in a commercial division.

20. All passengers should be secured in or on vehicle.

21. Any member of the parade committee on behalf of the Fire Department. can inspect any Float for safety factors including anything listed in rule number five.

22.The interpretation of these rules and regulations and any other rules or decisions involving the Halloween Parade shall be made by the Halloween Parade Committee on behalf of the fire company. Their decision(s) shall be final.Please be considerate of the other people in the parade and everyone involved.

Toms River Fire Company #1 would like for it to be a night to remember as one of the finest parades where all involved had a great time!
