Every year downtown Toms River
merchants give up their window space to the art goblins of Halloween. (Toms River High Schools art students) An amazing array of imagination and talent can be seen in progress the morning of the parade starting at about 7am. By 1PM downtown has been converted into a giant walking art gallery.
Legend has it that on some years during a full moon and when Halloween spirit is running exceptionally high the painted characters animate, leave the windows and wander the town of
Toms River in in search of dropped Halloween candy. (Or “anything” else they can eat.
